While Kimberly Foster was living in Australia, not being able to drive on the other side of the road or understand the Australian accent, she felt like a fish out of water. During her earlier years at school, there was little appreciation for her greatest talents. "There was no grade for daydreaming or helping people solve their problems". Now all the daydreaming paid off as Kimberly writes fairytales for a living.

"A Dolphin Up a Tree! is based on the Myers-Briggs theory of personality types and Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. During my early school years I knew I was different, not being good at math or sports, " says writer Kimberly Foster. "The four animals, Owl, Fox, Beaver and Dolphin - representing four human temperaments, learn they must coexist despite their differences."

Kimberly Foster is a licensed Myers Briggs practitioner, who has taught pre-school and elementary school in Australia, LA and New York City. Recently, she has served as a Teaching Artist for the greater NYC area. Kimberly is also the author of The Big Stew and Happy Flower and the Weeping Willow (music by Josh Sitron - directed by Paul Urcioli).

Kimberly says, "When I was first given a feedback session from Myers-Briggs, it changed my life instantly. I knew I needed to get my license and give other people what I just got. As a Dolphin type (the idealist) I see the world differently than a lot of people. I have never been very practical so I hire practical people to help me run my children's theatre company. I am much happier doing the things I'm good at."

"I write fiction and create worlds that are outrageous (a dolphin up a tree) and then fix them with a happy ending. I have taught children to dig deep and look for the happy ending, even if it's only pages in a book. The story of A Dolphin Up A Tree! gives kids hope that even if they feel stuck, with a little tolerance and understanding, there is always a happy ending."
